Homemade Yogurt

I've been enjoying plain yogurt with some fresh fruit and homemade granola lately.  Yogurt is SO EASY to make in your wonder oven.

I just pour whole milk into a quart jar to measure it.  Just fill it enough to allow for the yogurt starter later.

Pour that milk into a sauce pan and insert a thermometer.   Keep an eye on it, and stir occasionally to avoid scorching the pan or getting the film on the top.  When the temperature gets to 210-212, remove it from the stove and stir again.  Leave it alone until the temperature drops to room temperature and is just warm to the touch.

At that point, add a tablespoon or two of yogurt with active yogurt cultures to the mixture and stir.

Add the lid and place it in your wonder oven for several hours.   It's ready to put in the refrigerator when it looks like yogurt!

Now that you have a fresh batch, you can make your next batch by using the yogurt from this one.  If at some point it stops working for you, it may be necessary for you to buy a small container of plain yogurt to start again.

I love it with granola and fresh berries.  You can add whatever you want!
